Community Guidelines for MHM

Respect & Fairness

  • Treat all members with kindness and professionalism. Engage in thoughtful discussions while being mindful of others’ feelings and perspectives, even in disagreement.
  • Constructive dialogue is encouraged; personal attacks, name-calling, or inflammatory comments are not.

Zero Tolerance for Discrimination or Harassment

  • Discriminatory, hostile, or intimidating language will not be tolerated.
  • This includes discrimination or harassment based on race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, socioeconomic status, education level, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, size, family status, political beliefs, religion, or mental and physical abilities.
  • If you experience or witness harassment, please report it to moderators immediately.

Respect Intellectual Property

  • Give credit where credit is due. Do not plagiarize, copy, or share content without permission from the original creator.
  • If sharing an external resource (e.g., an article, research paper, or video), provide proper attribution.

Privacy & Confidentiality

  • What happens in MHM stays in MHM. Do not share posts, discussions, or personal details from other members outside this community.
  • Screenshots, direct quotes, or shared content must have explicit permission from the original poster.
  • If discussing client cases, ensure all identifying details are removed to protect client confidentiality.

Discussion Group Etiquette

Professional & Appropriate Language

  • Use respectful, professional, and inclusive language.
  • Profanity, hate speech, slurs, and offensive language are prohibited.

Constructive Communication

  • Tone matters—remember that text can be misinterpreted. Clarify your intent when needed.
  • Be patient and considerate, as not all members share the same language or communication style.

Confidentiality & Ethical Responsibility

  • As mental health professionals, we are committed to maintaining ethical standards in our conversations.
  • Do not share private client information or case details unless properly anonymized.

No Spam, Self-Promotion, or Unsolicited Solicitation

  • Networking and resource-sharing are welcome, but excessive self-promotion, unsolicited direct messages, and spam are not.
  • If sharing a personal product, service, or opportunity, ensure it aligns with MHM’s mission and follows posting guidelines.

Reporting Issues

  • If you see a violation of these guidelines, report it to moderators/admins so we can keep this space safe and supportive.
  • Repeated violations may lead to warnings, temporary suspension, or removal from the community.
